We sat down with club golf Medalist from Northeast Regional #2, freshman Mark Bondi from the University of Pittsburgh.
Can you tell us a little bit about your golf background?"I had always messed around with a golf club since I was young," said Bondi. "I have
played baseball since I was about 5, so I have always loved to hit things.
But I only really started to play consistently in the summer leading to my
sophomore year at Baldwin High School (Pennsylvania). I played on the JV team that year,
then moved up to Varsity as a junior, and served as the captain of the team as a
senior.

I've learned basically everything I know about the game from my
dad, who still teaches me today. Someday I hope to be as good as he was. I
also learned a lot from my high school coach, Jim Stanko, who is a wealth
of knowledge about the game, and just watching golf on TV."What’s in Mark's bag?Driver - TaylorMade R11S, stiff shaft, 9 degreesWoods - TaylorMade R9 3-wood and 5-wood, 15 and 19 degreesIrons - Titleist AP1 710 irons, 4-GWWedges - Callaway X, 52 and 58 degreesPutter - Odyssey White Ice 2-Ball, 34 inchesBall - Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x (depending on weather)

Bondi and the rest of the Pitt College Club Golf team will now have to wait and see if they have secured one of the four wild card spots for the NCCGA Nationals.
