NCCGA Weekly Honors Update

After a big weekend in the NCCGA with 14 tournaments happening around the nation, picking a team and player for the weekly honor was a tougher task than ever.

A few standout performances garnered a little bit of extra attention after certain teams and individuals put themselves in the driver's seat for a spot in the National Championship on April 27-28 at Crystal Springs Resort.

Team of the Week

Picking a team of the week is often a difficult task. But, when one team sends 16 golfers, an A and B team, that sweep the podium at a Regional Tournament, you don't have to look much further.

After finishing 1-2 at the NCCGA North Regional Tournament this past weekend, the University of Wisconsin Club Golf Team is the NCCGA Team of the Week for the weekend of April 6-7.

With the win in the first Regional, Wisconsin will have a chance this weekend to send BOTH squads to Nationals when they play in their second Regional Tournament.

Even though the basketball team couldn't get it done, the club golf team is well on their way to national supremacy.

Player of the Week

Winning golf tournaments is a tall task. But, two NCCGA golfers this weekend are well on their way to making NCCGA history.

Texas A&M's Anthony Sryko and Pitt's Mark Bondi both won Medalist honors for the THIRD time in their collegiate club golf careers.

Sryko went 74-73-147 in the Texas Regional en route to his third solo victory in NCCGA play.

Bondi led the tournament field in the Atlantic both days with a 76-73-149.
