With a big difference in weather the second Atlantic regional tournament took place this past weekend in Elizabeth, PA at Butler’s golf course Lakeside and Woodside courses.
Round one took place on the tougher Lakeside course was a beautiful day with the weather in the upper 70’s and low 80’s and the scores reflected this. Pitt, the winners from a week ago at Birdsfoot, started off strong again as after day one when they took over a 30 shot lead heading into day two. Individually there were many low scores including first round leader Spencer Kuhn from Pitt who shot a 4 over 75, in total there were 8 players who broke 80 on Saturday. Sunday morning rolled around and the weather was just as picture perfect as it was on Saturday minus a 5-minute rain shower in the morning.
Pitt wanting to punch their ticket to Jersey did so in fantastic fashion shooting a two day total of 762 winning by 49 shots over runner-up Robert Morris. Day two individually was highlighted by Matt Milana from Pitt who shot a one under 71 to win medalist honors for the weekend. Pitt is on a roll and will be a team to contend with at nationals if they can continue to play like they have these past two weekends.
