Atlanta Golfer Records 62 in Wild City Tour Weekend

Wow! Something must have been in the water on Sunday because scores across the board were looooooooooooow. In fact, we wanted to give a special shout-out to Ben Fogler (Atlanta City Tour) for shooting the lowest round in Nextgengolf history; a simply scintillating scorching 62 (Par 72). A round that featured three birdie-birdie-birdie streaks. Bravo Ben! We also saw a course record tied in Cincinnati, and a new city debut on the West Coast. Let’s check out some other highlights from this past weekend.

Atlanta - Bear’s Best GC

As previously mentioned, Ben Fogler had the round of the summer (so far) with a 62 (someone check if that’s a course record, please!), AND his teammate Will Snipes shot an awesome 63. The rest of his Dubspread (-18) teammates carried the team to a convincing win over some great competition from PGCC (-5) and solid play from Grip It And Sip It (+5) and The Violators (+9).

Slice and Dice are on a mission. That mission is to shoot very low golf scores, leaving a path of envious golfers in their wake. Lead by the three Keating brothers, will anyone be able to stop them on their march to Cog Hill and City Tour glory? It would appear not, as the brothers fired rounds of 66 (Brendan), 69 (Brian), and 69 (Sean). Looks like Brendan is buying the drinks. Stiff competition came from Cincy Skyline led by a 71 from Michael Oberschmidt. Also, a shout out to all participants for sticking it out despite torrential downpours that caused a delay in the middle of the round.

St. Louis - Pevely Farms GC

Another strong showing from the Stroke of Genius squad that is making a push for being a top-ranked team going to the City Tour National Championship at Cog Hill. The low round came from Mark Stahlhuth who shot a -2 (70), but could have easily been a 68 if not for a couple late-round bogeys. Overall, the team came in at -7 to beat out Quincy who shot a quality +1.

During the first-ever L.A. City Tour event three teams shot some good scores to make for a very competitive event. Coming out on top was Pace of LA shooting -2 (138) edging out The Journey To Beerer at +4 (144) and Team Twitter at +6 (146). Leading all scorers was former Xavier golfer Ariel McNair shooting a solid 74 (+4). Everyone is looking forward to the next event.

Milwaukee - Broadlands Golf Club

I feel like there must be something in the Midwestern water because the scores are consistently excellent. A heated battle between Tin Cup and MSOE & Co produced some great individual rounds. James Christian (-3), Dane Zachman (-2), and Chris Zachman (-1) fired the under par rounds with MSOE & Co edging out Tin Cup by two strokes (136 to 138).
