Fall 2017 Metro Region NCCGA Tournament

With unseasonably warm temperatures in the air, Metro Regional players found difficulty at every turn at Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, CT. Central Connecticut State University clung to a 4 stroke lead heading into day 2 over defending regional champions Southern Connecticut State University and they were able to hang on for a 6 stroke win over the surging Stags of Fairfield. With a team score of 403 on day 2, Fairfield finished 1 stroke better than third place SCSU. After winning individuals the prior week at Apple Greens, Nick Young of Albany State once again won medalist after impressive rounds of 76-74. Devin Peterson of SCSU finished 4 back with rounds of 78-76. Yale, Fairfield, & CCSU all finished with 6 points after both regional tournaments.
