For the fist time in recent memory, the Colonial Region had great weather and the players took advantage of it. 22 people broke 80 in round 1, and the low scores continued in the second round. Matt Ashley of UVA defended his title from last year by firing a 69 in the second round, to bring his two day total to 142 (-2). Jacob Wolford from JMU finish 4 shots back in 2nd place. Andrew Barrick from Liberty and Jake Richardson from HSC went T-3 at 148 to round out the top 4. In the team event, JMU (759) held a 13 shot lead after round 1, and maintained that lead at the end, with Virginia Tech (771) only able to chip away one shot in round 2. A very competitive 1st tournament should lead to a a great second tournament in 3 weeks. See you there!
