The Central Region was formed in the Spring of 2013 by Bill Donovan from the University of Missouri. The founding members of the Region include the University of Missouri, Southeast Missouri State, and St. Louis University. The leaders of the NCCGA decided to transfer some schools from the Midwest Region to the Central to balance out the size of the two regions. The Central Region contains ten teams and is continuing to look for potential schools to add in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas and Arkansas to make it one of the stronger regions within the NCCGA.
